WHAT ARE GIRLS INC. PROGRAMS?

Girls Inc. programs are based on extensive research at the Girls Inc. National Resource Center that encourage girls to master intellectual, physical and emotional challenges and to take risks. All programs are age-appropriate and delivered by trained facilitators. There are eight major programs available in areas of health and sexuality, economic literacy, math and science education.

Girls Inc. of Westchester will be initially concentrating on three critical program areas:

Health and Sexuality

Girls Inc. Preventing Adolescent Pregnancy® teaches girls communication skills, provides resources and gives them confidence to be in charge of their sexual health and avoid teen pregnancy.

Economic Literacy

Girls Inc. Economic Literacy® introduces girls to basic economics and financial tools that help them make smart financial decisions. They learn to manage money, invest and begin an appreciation for economics.

Media Literacy

Girls Inc. Medial Literacy® encourages girls to think critically about media messages and advocate for change in entertainment, news and advertising media, and create images that are more realistic and reflective of their lives.

As Girls Inc. of Westchester continues to grow we will expand our program offerings. Other trademarked Girls Inc. programs that will be offered in Westchester in the future include:
